Metal Repousse Tutorial by Tanya

The tools you will need for this type of work areArtEmboss metal sheets (I chose to use the Copper sheet ), Stazon Ink, a thin foam sheet, a wooden stylus tool, and your choice of rubber stamp.

Stamp your image on your choice of metal sheet

Put your foam sheet underneath the metal sheet and start tracing around the areas you want to raise.

Turn the sheet over and add cross hatching, or simply push out the areas you want to pop up. Keep in mind you will be flipping the sheet around many times in order to get the details you want. The metal is forgiving, so have fun with it.

This took me about 20 minutes to complete, but as you can see from the flat image on the right, this technique gives you a 2 dimensional image, with a vintage feel to it.

Last but not least, I mounted it to my card using pop up dots. I hope you enjoyed my tutorial on metal repousse. It is gives you another medium to use all your fabulous stamps on. This is my first tutorial for The Pixie Cottage, please let me know how I did! Any useful tips or hints would be appreciated. Have a wonderful Saturday ladies, Hugs Tanya

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #20 - Add a Pocket or Tag - Guest Sketch

It is another Once Upon A Wednesday and I'm chomping at the bit to let you know our Special Guest Sketch Artist this week.
I can't believe it but it's Bev Rochester from All The Things I Love!
I've admired Bev's work for ages, her use of color is fabulous and all the little extras make for some stunning cards. She designs cards for companies like Magnolia, Stampavie and Whiff Of Joy and others too numerous to mention and still she's as nice as pie and not only designed this fabulous sketch

but she made this awesome creation for us too!

As well as the sketch we have an optional technique of adding a Tag or a Pocket to your card, remember you can chose the sketch, the technique or both!

One randomly picked winner will get their choice of 2 Pixie Cottage Stamps and the Design Teams Top Three entries will get to display the winners badge on their blog.
Winners will be announced on the Friday following the end of the challenge.

It's also the final week for our Guest Designer Rowena and I'm sure you'll agree she did us proud! It's been fabulous having her along all through May and I hope you'll leave a her a little love to remember us by :)
