Tutorial by Tanya - Make a Dangling Charm

The tools you will need to make your dangling charm are a good pair of beading pliers, tweezers, jump rings, any form of clasp (mine being a lobster clasp), beads, charms and some form of necklace chain.

The first thing to do is attach your necklace chain to a larger jump ring, doing so with different lengths of chain. You can add a little or a lot, the choice is up to you. I chose 4 chain lengths.

Next you take your beads and thread them through your smaller jump rings, finishing them off by attaching them to the necklace chain and closing them with the beading pliers. I find it easier to hold the jump rings with my tweezers and then use the pliers in my other hand to squeeze the jump ring shut.

Continue adding beads and charms to your necklace chain. Once you are satisfied with the look, add the clasp onto the larger jump ring that the necklace chain was originally attached to.

I used a loopy brad on the card and then attached the dangling charm to it. This way if the person receiving the card wants to remove the charm they can do so. They look awfully pretty on cell phones!

Et Voila, you have your very own, handmade dangling charm that adds a nice dimension to your card. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial ladies! Have a wonderful Saturday.
Hugs
Tanya

The Pixie Cottage Challenge #26 - Guest Sketch and Make an Aperture card (in other words put in a window in it!)

It's time for another Once Upon A Wednesday with another fabulous Special Guest Sketch Artist and this time it's Dawny P from The Pink Piggy!
Dawny is a super card maker and her sketches are so popular that they not only appear on her Papertake Weekly challenge but she's also a DT member on fabulous challenges such as Just Magnolia, Lili of The Valley, Dies to Die For, Anyone for Anya and more!

Also Dawny created this stunning card for us featuring Ballerina Fairy by Alisa Ramirez

Along with the sketch we have the added option making an Aperture card.
If you don't know what that means, it is simply a window on the front of your card looking in.
The team samples should give you some ideas if you want to try the technique as well (or instead of) the sketch.
You don't have to use a Pixie Cottage Stamp to enter but if you do have why not try out!
Remember you can use the sketch, the theme or both and can combine our challenge with any others you like!

One randomly picked winner will get their choice of 2 Pixie Cottage Stamps and the Design Teams Top Three entries will get to display the winners badge on their blog.
Winners will be announced on the Friday following the end of the challenge.

Our guest designer for both July and August will be Lisa and she has started us off with this wonderful card!

We also have another guest for July and that is the super talented Tracy and she has this super creation for us!
Using Over The Moon by Tina Akonom

Be sure to visit them both and leave a little Pixie Cottage love for them.

Now for the rest of the team, some have chosen to do the sketch and others have done both parts of the challenge.

I just uploaded several new digital images to the store. Some super cute summer images by ArTish. So stop by and check them out.

Here is a peek at one of them.

The first two correct responses to this post will receive this image for free.

The name of this stamp is Jacques and The Mama Fish. What famous person is this stamp named after? (it is an easy one folks)
